* From 1865 to 1881, the instruments featured two numbers: stand number / microscope number. For example, the 564th simple microscope is also the 815th microscope made by Carl Zeiss, so it was labelled “564/815”.

* From 1865 to 1881, the instruments featured two numbers: stand number / microscope number. For example, the 239th compound microscope is also the 796th microscope made by Carl Zeiss, so it was labelled “239/796”.
