maker; achromatic microscope; late 19th century)
Microscope 618 is a
small achromatic microscope of French origin from the late 19th
century. Focusing is by a simple rack and pinion system. Similar microscopes
appear in the catalogues of James Queen (1870, 1872) and Miller Bros (1879)
(Figure 1).
